Production
The humble Carignan variety can produce captivating wines when grown in adversity. In the coastal mountains of Chile, the grapes for Debajo wine are grown in an unirrigated, rocky vineyard where the vines' roots have to burrow deep to find water, nutrients and minerals. This struggle results in a wine with great concentration of flavours.
Tasting Notes
From dry-farmed bush vines in the Valle Central, this low yielding Carignan enjoys 15% Grenache. The nose is alive with fresh red berry compote with a touch of liquorice. The palate is hugely juicy, fresh with a gentle seam of tannin structure that is ultimately soft and supple. This is a juicy, aromatic bottle of joy!
