Íntimo Tinto, Humberto Canale, 2020
The first winery in Patagonia to be certified as sustainable, Humberto Canale still operate today with the same values as when Guillermo Barzi's uncle planted the vines in 1914. Providing work and housing for local residents they pride themselves on to this day being an authentic family owned winery with real family values. The cooler climate of Pategonia allows fruit to ripen slowly and retain an acidity not normally associated with the new world and one that yields wines of superb complexity and elegance. These vines are located in the winery owned old vineyards located in General Roca, Alto Valle del Río Negro, Patagonia. During the harvest the berries are carefully handpicked in small containers and quickly delivered to the winery, 1 kilometer away from the vineyard. Yields are low at just 7-8 thousand kilos per hectare.
